A Parabola-like Gold Nanobowtie on a Sapphire Substrate as a Nano-Cavity

Plasmonic, metallic nanostructures have attracted much interest for their ability to manipulate light on a subwavelength scale and related applications in various fields. In this work, parabola-like gold nanobowtie (PGNB) sapphire substrate was designed as nano-cavity confining waves nanoscale gap region. The near-field optical properties of the innovative PGNB structure were studied comprehensively, taking advantage time-resolved field calculation based finite-difference time-domain algorithm (FDTD). result showed that resonance wavelength quite sensitive geometry PGNB. values scattering absorption PGNB, such cross section, extinction ratio, also strongly dependent geometrical parameters which affected surface area nanobowtie. Increased sharpness tips nano-wings benefited concentration high-density charges with opposite electric narrow limited volume, thus, resulting highly enhanced under illumination wave. Reduction size between two nano-tips, namely, nano-cavity, decreased distance potential produced by concentrated each nano-tip had jump across, therefore, causing significantly nano-cavity. Further, alignment linearly polarized incident wave symmetric axis efficiently enabled free electrons concentrate sharp high density, improving across research provides new insight future design, nanofabrication, characterization PGNBs devices relate enhancing photons emission, efficiency energy harvesting, sensitivity infrared detection.
